Expansion of U.S. Real Estate Operator

Pain Point
A significant operator and manager of U.S. real estate properties sought to expand its reach via third-party investment. The operator’s goal was to leverage Mack & Co.’s fund formation and domain expertise to raise a $50 million third-party real estate fund. This was the first time the operator had sought outside investment for its 20-year-old real estate company.

Mack & Co. restructured the operator’s existing real estate business to take in investment from third-parties, including family offices and selected institutions. We advised the operator on the formation of its inaugural third-party fund, developed the go-to-market strategy for the fund, and provided capital introduction services to our family office network.

Our restructuring strategy and thought leadership for the operator and its management team yielded great success. Two years after initial implementation, the operator is raising its second third-party fund, with a target of $100 million in equity from family offices and institutions.
